Repsol and Neuron BPh sign an agreement
Repsol has signed a framework agreement with Neuron BPh for the development of projects of joint interest in the area of industrial biotechnology. Neuron, developer of the registered technology platform MICROBIOTOOLS ®, works on the development of bioprocesses for the chemical, pharmaceutical, foodstuffs and energy industries.
The development of bioprocesses by Neuron Bioindustrial include the isolation and selection of microorganisms, optimisation and scaling studies in bioreactors, and technical and economic feasibility studies in industrial plants.
Repsol’s technical managers have identified Neuron Bioindustrial as a strategic partner because of its experience and know-how in industrial biotechnology in the areas of industrial applications, biopolymers and bioenergy.
Among the most outstanding achievements of Neuron’s technology platform MicroBiOil® are a novel technology for the production of second-generation biodiesel from crude glycerin and TriBioPlast, a technology for the production of bioplastics.
