Neuron Bio attends the course on trends in Biomedicine “Tendencias en Biomedicina 2011”
Neuron Bio has attended the course “Tendencias en Biomedicina 2011”, which was held in Almuñecar (Granada) from 25 to 28 July as part of the XXVIII year of summer courses at the Mediterranean Centre of the University of Granada.
Dr. Javier S. Burgos, CSO of the Neuron BioPharma division, gave an overview of the current situation with regard to the development of new drugs to combat Alzheimer’s disease in his talk entitled, “The Pharmacology of Alzheimer’s Disease”, as a member of a round table of experts, who also discussed such relevant topics as the genetics and diagnosis of the disease.
This annual course, which deals with current trends in Biomedicine, is directed by Antonio Osuna Carrillo de Albornoz, Professor of Parasitology and Head of the Biotechnology Institute of the University of Granada, Federico Mayor Menéndez, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid and Professor Fernando Valdivieso, Chairman of Neuron Bio.
