Neuron Bio supports the Granadown association with its 2012 solidarity calendar
Granadown is a pioneer NGO working for the equality of people with Down’s syndrome in the province of Granada. This year Neuron Bio is one of the enterprises supporting the distribution of the Granadown solidarity calendar, an initiative which has become a local tradition.
The sixth edition of the calendar with this year’s motto: “With our efforts and your support we will achieve great success. Stand by us!” was presented in the Council Chamber of Granada City Hall on 2nd December.
The president of the Granadown association, María del Pilar López Garrido, spoke about the advances and achievements of disabled people in recent years. This presentation highlighted the integration of members of the Down’s syndrome community into the labour market with these people now working as civil servants in the town hall or the provincial government of Granada as well as in private companies and even in the university. López Garrido emphasised the “share flat” project, which allows members of Granadown to share a home with flat mates and university students and even participate in an electoral process, not only by voting, but also being one of the officials in charge of a polling station.
Neuron Bio, which thanks to this participation reinforces its support to solidarity organizations of Granada, was represented in this event by Elena Requena and Malena Valdivieso from the business and development department of the company, who expressed their satisfaction about the success of this initiative and stated, together with other collaborating entities, their continuing collaboration with the activities of this NGO.
