The association had decided to award the prize to Neuron Bio in recognition of its research into neurodegenerative diseases, whilst CajaGranada received the award for its outstanding “personal involvement in the fight against Parkinson’s disease and its co-operation with the association”.

Present at the event were Higinio Almagro and Magdalena Sánchez, the acting delegates for Health and for Equality respectively of the Andalucian Regional Government, Rocío Díaz, the councillor for Presidency, Protocol and Celebratory Events of the Granada city council, and Ana López Andújar, head of the Family and Social Welfare delegation of the Granada provincial council, among others.

The Granada Parkinson’s Association continued with its World Parkinson’s Day on Thursday 12 April by locating stands in different districts of the city to provide the public with information about the disease, and on the following day by officially opening the local seat of the Parkinson’s Association on the Coast of Granada in Motril.
