Neuron Bio is awarded the Andalucian Prize for the Promotion of Scientific and Technical Research

The Council for Economics, Innovation, Science and Employment of the Andalucian regional government has awarded the XVI Andalucian Prize for the Promotion of Scientific and Technical Research to Neuron Bio “for its business trajectory focused upon biotechnology and its commitment to research, innovation and technological development in Andalucia”. The board of adjudicators also wished to bring to the fore, “the company’s activities in the areas of health care, sustainable energy, the environment and the field of agro-industry, in all of which it is working on research projects which are hoped to have significant repercussions.”

The managing director, Dr. Javier Velasco, showed his great satisfaction at receiving the award and emphasised that the Andalucian government had rewarded the work of the whole team at Neuron Bio and highlighted one of the main challenges that the company had chosen to face, that of making research one of the motors driving the advancement of modern society and improving the welfare of society as a whole.

Other winners in the various modes for which prizes were awarded were the researcher for the National Higher Council for Research (CSIC) Dr. Carmen Hermosín Gaviño, who was recognised for her work on Andalucian Themes in the publication “Plácido Fernández Viagas”; Dr. Luis Rico Romero, professor of the University of Granada and highly distinguished in the field of humanities and legal and social sciences; and Dr. Pedro Medina, lecturer at the University of Granada, who was awarded the Third Millennium Prize for young research workers.

Other awards were the “Antonio de Ulloa” prize for architecture and engineering, which went to Dr. Elías Fereres, professor at the University of Córdoba, and the “Columela” prize for health sciences, obtained by Dr. Federico Garrido Torres-Puchol, professor at the University of Granada.
