Neuron BioServices conforms to the new regulations concerning safety studies with the zebrafish model

Neuron BioServices, a pioneer in the use of zebrafish in the pharmaceutical and agro-food sector, has taken the necessary steps to conform to the new OCDE regulations concerning studies to determine the acute toxicity of substances. The most recent updating of the Fish Embryo Toxicity (FET) Test by the OCDE increases the exposure time of the compounds to 96 hours, thus allowing further time to discover additional adverse effects not detectable in the 48 hours permitted by the earlier version of the protocol.

With its adaptation to this new regulation Neuron BioServices continues at the forefront of the development of alternative preclinical research methods, minimizing the number of mammals used in the discovery and development of new drugs and ingredients.
