Neuron Bio participates in a consortium project for the development of functional food to improve human health

The Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness has awarded the grant by the ERDF INNTERCONECTA program for the implementation of a consortium project with the multinational company AMC INNOVA JUICE AND DRINKS and the leading IERA (Instituto Extremeño de Reproducción Asistida).

The aim of the project is to develop specific functional food in order to improve human health. It seeks to generate expert knowledge through research and technical results of the product formulation, with substantially improved features and characteristics, for the development of drinks with beneficial properties for human health of adult population.

Neuron Bio has a relevant role in this consortium, contributing with its extensive experience in formula and compound evaluation aimed for the improvement of human health. Thus, the company will use its technological platform made up of more than 50 technologies and its expertise in compound efficacy studies in animal models highlighted by the use of the zebrafish in research. The zebrafish is an appropriate test system for the evaluation of substance effects on embryonic development and for studying beneficial and security effects on adults.

The FEDER – INNTERCONECTA program is an initiative of the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) to finance R&D large-scaled projects of strategic nature in international areas of economic and commercial influence in a co-operative framework.
