Neuron BioServices exposes research with zebrafish to the Fundación Moderna de Navarra
Dr. Juan M. Alfaro, scientific advisor of Neuron BioServices, gave a talk at the Fundación Moderna de Navarra on the advantages of using the zebrafish as an animal model. Neuron BioServices, a division of Neuron Bio is specialist in this type of animal model and offers its preclinical services to the biotechnological sector.
During the talk Dr. Alfaro explained in detail the reason why the zebrafish is one of the best biological models for the study of new drugs. This is mainly due to the high genetic similarity with human beings, the ease of handling and the possibilities the zebrafish offers for the application of new genomic and proteomic technologies.
Dr. Alfaro commented that the zebrafish is transparent at the initial stages of its development facilitates the analysis in real time of the effects a drug may have on this animal model.
