Neuron Bio is the first Spanish biotechnological company to obtain the Forética SGE21 certificate of corporative social responsibility

Neuron Bio has received the certificate for an Ethical and CSR Management System according to the standard SGE 21:2008, awarded by Forética, the leading Spanish association of companies and professionals for corporative social responsibility (CSR), which monitors the requirements a company must fulfil to include social responsibility in all aspects of its organisation. Neuron Bio is the first company belonging to the biotechnological sector to be awarded this certificate.

Javier Velasco, CEO of Neuron Bio, stated that this award implies official recognition of a mode of conduct which the company has been developing since its foundation in 2006. He went on to emphasise that social responsibility should be a priority for any business organisation, but even more so for a company such as Neuron Bio, whose basic mission is to improve the quality of life of Alzheimer’s patients and seek the prevention of the disease through further research, and also to achieve clean sources of energy via its investigation into biofuels, among other projects.

The aim of the SGE 21 plan is to inculcate and evaluate a system of ethical and socially responsible management in business organisations, as well as assessing and certifying the management of the organisation in the light of this standard. It is a voluntary social commitment on the part of Neuron BioPharma to confirm and continue with the ethical values that the company represents.

Thus the company’s relationships with its different stakeholders (employees, shareholders, suppliers, clients, surrounding social environment etc.) are codified and criteria are established according to a code of conduct supervised by a board of ethics.
